DORTE KARREBÆK

Born in 1946

Dorte Karrebæk, born 1946, trained as an illustrator at the Design School in Copenhagen and now lives in Spain.

Dorte Karrebæk has written and illustrated a large number of children’s books on an artistically advanced level using her own unique style as a basis for creating original ideas. Equipped with an eye for the unusual, she courageously and poetically draws and writes about tabooed subjects always keeping in mind the viewpoint of her audience, the children. Her style ranges from the emphatic and expressive to the grotesque and humorous.

Among her latest books: Idiot!, Lejren, Ny Bibel for de fattige i ånden og Stakkels Kanin! Det var nok det bedste!
